Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program
WIC is a nutrition program that helps families eat well and stay healthy. The WIC program provides nutrition education through nutrition assessments, and offers one-on-one counseling about food, nutrition and breastfeeding. WIC gives vouchers to buy healthy foods, including fresh fruits and vegetables, milk, protein foods, whole grains, cereals, infant foods and more. WIC also helps with referrals to other health and social services.
How to Apply
If you live in Washington County, please call the WIC program to see if you qualify and to schedule an appointment.

At the appointment, WIC staff will:
  • Complete a nutrition assessment including a measurement of weight, height and hemoglobin (finger stick).
  • Talk about good nutrition, healthy eating, breastfeeding and any special health concerns your family may have.
  • Give food vouchers to eligible participants for healthy foods.

If you do not live in Washington County, please call 1-800-942-4030 for a WIC program in your area.
