    Learn how to set up a rod, put bait on the hook, cast like a pro, take fish off the hook and learn about different kinds of fish and different ways to catch them! Bait / Flies, tackle, and fishing rods will all be provided. FREE Tuesday, no vehicle permit required. Meet at the fishing pier. Capacity is 15 kids. Program is FREE and reservations are required!

    Experience Sunset Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Paddle at Square Lake County Park with Brown Dog Paddleboard Co. This beautifully serene lake is 10 minutes north of downtown Stillwater and known for its sunsets and water clarity region wide. This 75 minute class begins with land based safety brief and instruction prior to launching. This is a social paddle with a comfortable pace to enjoy the company and landscape. This class is for all levels and no experience is necessary. Participants must be 14-plus years old and able to swim. All minors must be accompanied by a registered adult. All instruction and equipment is provided. Dress for the weather and water activity.

Open to all levels of yoga. Classes held at the North Pavilion south of the gazebo by the baseball diamond. You will find plenty of available parking. Please dress comfortably, bring a yoga mat, water, and arrive 5-10 minutes ahead of class time. Space is limited and reservation are required.   5. Bird Hike at Pine Point Regional Park

    July 11, 2020, 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM @ Pine Point Regional Park

    Take part in a guided bird hike at Washington County Parks and join the ranks of the 47 million birders in the United States. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced birder, these hikes are a great way to get outdoors, listen to the sounds of nature, and learn to identify the birds that call the St. Croix Valley home. Participants also have the opportunity to contribute to citizen science data collection by completing bird count surveys with your guide. The surveys collected will assist our Natural Resources team and related work in conjunction with the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Fund grant. Remember to dress for the weather. We recommend bringing your binoculars and a water bottle. Other recommended items include sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, hiking or tennis shoes, bug spray and snacks. For all ages; children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Space is limited and reservations are required.

  7. Nooks & Crannies Tour

    July 11, 2020, 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM @ Historic Courthouse

    Explore the areas of the Historic Courthouse that are typically closed off to the public, including the basement, dome, and step inside the 1870’s jail that housed women and juveniles! The history exhibits will be open for viewing at your own pace. Nooks & Crannies tours are held on the first Saturday of the month, May through October. This tour is not handicap accessible and will require bending, stepping over/under low-hanging objects, stair climbing, and walking on uneven floor surfaces. $10 per person Ages 8 and older. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Reserve online or call 651-275-7075. Walk-ins welcome based on availability. Reservations are nonrefundable within 14 days of the program date. Proceeds benefit the Historic Courthouse Restoration Fund.

    Goats are back at Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park and Lake Elmo Park Reserve targeting garlic mustard and common buckthorn. Please check the park website for up-to-date information on where they are located in each park. If you are interested in learning more, register for a one hour tour hosted by a grazing specialist. The Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park tours will be held on July 31 and August 1. The Lake Elmo Park Reserve tours will be held on August 11 and 12.
