Located high on the hill overlooking downtown Stillwater, the Washington County Historic Courthouse is the longest standing courthouse in the state of Minnesota, serving as the county seat for over 100 years. Now a Washington County Park, the Historic Courthouse offers daily guided and self-guided tours, activities for families, educational programming for the public, schools and scouts, public events, and private meeting and event rental spaces.
The Historic Courthouse offers guided public tours, self-guided tours, and a variety of themed tours throughout the year. Learn more details about the history of the St. Croix Valley, hear tales of the people who lived and worked at the courthouse, or enjoy a walking tour of the neighborhood.

The Washington County Historic Courthouse is perfect for a variety of social events and business meetings. This historic site overlooks downtown Stillwater with easy access to all the amenities the city has to offer. The courthouse complex includes a variety of unique meeting spaces located alongside historical exhibitions, including the Courtroom, Register of Deeds Meeting Room & North Lobby Meeting Room. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful, rolling grounds with historical markers and monuments that convey the history of the area.
