County Highway 12 (75th St) Improvement Project
Project Need
Stillwater Rd/75th St, which serves 9,900 vehicles per day, is an important east-west corridor for local and regional trips. The corridor provides access and connectivity within local communities. Adjacent land uses include Mahtomedi High School & Middle School, Wildwood Elementary School, the Mahtomedi Fire Station, Wildwood Library, commercial and residential properties, and institutional land uses.
Project Background
A study, that determined the recommended project design, took place from December 2016 to March 2018. During each step of the project, Washington County, along with local community representatives, sought public input (see Public Involvement tab). The public input received guided the county in developing project goals and corridor concepts that align with issues, needs, and desired project outcomes. From that study phase 1 design and construction was completed in 2020/2021 to improve safety and pavement in the downtown area. This next phase of the study will pick up where the previous improvement project ended and go to Kimbro Ave.
