Apply for a BizRecycling Relief Grant

If your business has been negatively impacted by
COVID-19 or the recent civil unrest, you may be eligible for up to $10,000 to support operational expenses related to managing waste and recycling. Relief grants include more eligible expenses than regular BizRecycling grants and are available to businesses new to BizRecycling as well as those that have previously participated in the program. Apply by Oct. 31, 2020.

Keep yard waste out of your trash

Did you know that it is illegal to put yard, garden, and tree waste into the garbage? Bring yard waste to a designated drop-off site, have it picked up by your trash hauler during seasonal yard waste collection, or compost yard waste at home.

Recycle batteries the right way

Lithium ion batteries, like those in cell phones and other electronics, can cause big problems when disposed of improperly. Do not put these batteries in your trash or recycling, where they can start fires and create hazards for the people who manage your trash and recycling. Instead, drop them at the Environmental Center for free.

Safely store and transport batteries by placing a small piece of clear packing tape over the positive and negative ends of each battery. Using clear tape allows Environmental Center staff to identify the battery for proper sorting and recycling.
