Residents may receive reimbursement for travel costs to educational programs

Washington County program recipients may be reimbursed transportation costs to attend educational programs this summer.

Now through Sept. 9, Washington County residents who are receiving or have received human services, public health and/or community corrections services within the last six months can be reimbursed for their transportation costs associated with attending educational programs, or receive help in coordinating rides. Eligible services include cash assistance, food support, child support, child protection, veterans’ services, WIC, adult/juvenile probation and other case management services.

Residents will need to submit a receipt for Uber/Lyft, taxi, or other transportation service and a valid form of identification to receive reimbursement. Approved costs will be reimbursed via cash cards which can be either picked up at a county’s service centers or mailed directly to a recipient’s home address.

The county will determine eligibility for recipients and for the educational events.

Find more information, including a list of eligible activities, on the county website.
