Washington County invites vendors to apply for the 27th annual Christmas at the Historic Courthouse Nov. 22-24. The deadline for their applications has been extended to Sept. 23.
This event is a fundraiser for the Historic Courthouse restoration fund and kicks off Stillwater’s “Hometown for the Holidays” Christmas festivities in downtown Stillwater.
This is a juried event; approximately 30 vendors are accepted each year. Unique, handcrafted, and local items at a variety of price points are especially welcome. To be eligible, submit the vendor application found at www.co.washington.mn.us/hcevents, photos of the product, and booth setup by Sept. 23. Incomplete applications will not be considered by the jury.
The courthouse will be decorated in holiday spirit and offer two unique experiences to participating guests, which number about 2,000 each year. Friday night is the gala, which is a special evening of shopping, light hors d’oeuvres, desserts, live music, door prizes, and local beer/wine and cider sampling. The courthouse opens up to the public for free entry Saturday and Sunday, and hosts a Holiday Bake Shop selling light lunch fare, beverages, and baked goods; Santa visits; live entertainment; and jail and exhibit tours. All of this is made possible through the donations made by local businesses.
The building has Wi-Fi and is ADA accessible. Due to the unique character and architecture of the building, booth spaces are not all rectangular and may contain angles or unusual features requiring vendors to be flexible with their design and set-up.
