Stargazing at Lake Elmo Park Reserve
Saturday, February 17, 2018
Make the stars your old friends while watching the great winter celestial show in the skies over Lake Elmo Park Reserve with meteorologist Mike Lynch.
Participants will start off with an indoor orientation at the Nordic Center, followed by time outside under the heavens. The winter constellations have a great deal to offer. Get to know Orion the Hunter, Gemini the Twins, Taurus the Bull, and many more. The group will use large reflecting telescopes, including two giant reflector telescopes that are among the biggest mobile telescopes in the upper Midwest, for close-up views of the moon, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies and other celestial treasures. This is an outdoor event, so dress for the weather.
