Release of Inmates

Court Information

Once court has ended, usually around 11:30 a.m., the jail does not get updated inmate release information from court administration until around 1:30 p.m. at the earliest. Once the jail gets court information, it could take one to four hours to process an inmate release from the jail.

If the court calendar is small, the process could be shorter. Every day is different. Much depends upon the size of the court calendar and if the inmate was seen by the judge first or last. The jail has no control over the court calendar or when the information is received from court administration.

Inmates being released are not authorized to walk into local churches looking for money or rides home. Inmates will not receive any money or bus tokens from the County Community Social Services Department.

Inmates can receive a packet on community resources if requested.

Inmates who are intoxicated, under the influence of drugs or vulnerable due to mental health issues will only be released to a responsible party. The responsibly party must be an adult, sober, and present a valid driver’s license.
