Washington County Crisis Assistance Fund

The Washington County CDBG Crisis Assistance Fund serves families and individuals who are currently homeless or imminently at risk of homelessness. Priority is given to those households who are 80 percent or below AMI. The housing coordinator is the facilitator of fund distribution after assessment of the household's situation.

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Crisis Assistance Fund can be used toward housing-related activities including first month's rent and damage deposits, eviction and mortgage foreclosure prevention, emergency shelter, and application fees.

Use of these funds by the applicant is a once in a lifetime usage and is discretionary per assessment of an applicant current situation and availability of funds.

Family Homelessness Prevention and Assistance Program (FHPAP)

Please contact one of the below agencies for assistance in housing and food:
  • Solid Ground the Home Again program, which provides rent assistance and case management for families to help them secure permanent housing.
  • Canvas Health provides support services for youth who are homeless /at-risk of homelessness.
  • Salvation Army to provide financial assistance such as utility payment assistance, clothing or food assistance, transportation assistance, etc.
FHPAP services can be requested by citizens from all cities and townships in Washington County including: Afton, Bayport, Baytown Township, Birchwood, Cottage Grove, Dellwood, Denmark Township, Forest Lake, Grant, Grey Cloud Island Township, Hastings (part in Washington County), Hugo, Lake Elmo, Lake St. Croix Beach, Lakeland, Lakeland Shores, Landfall, Mahtomedi, Marine on the St. Croix, May Township, Newport, Oak Park Heights, Oakdale, Pine Springs, St. Mary's Point, St. Paul Park, Scandia, Stillwater, Stillwater Township, West Lakeland Township, White Bear Lake (part in Washington County), Willernie, and Woodbury
