County Environmental Charge

County Environmental Charge (CEC)

The Washington County Environmental Charge (CEC) is a 35 percent charge on garbage service. This type of fee has been collected since the mid-1980s. Revenue from the CEC is used for solid and hazardous waste services such as the Environmental Center and household hazardous waste collections, recycling grants to cities and townships, and environmental education programs. All CEC reports for the coming year are sent out in advance in January each year. If you need a new copy of your CEC report, please download and fill out the report linked below. Note: CEC reports must be hand-delivered or postmarked by 4:30 pm on the due date. Do not submit the CEC report electronically.
