Meetings and Events at the Historic Courthouse
Historic Courthouse is closed until January 2024
The Historic Courthouse in Washington County is currently undergoing exterior restoration this year to preserve and improve the building.
Starting from June 1, the courthouse and its surroundings, including the grounds and parking lot, is closed to the public throughout the construction period. Stay informed: learn more about the project and sign up for updates.
The Washington County Historic Courthouse is perfect for a variety of social events and business meetings. This historic site is perfectly situated high on the hill overlooking downtown Stillwater with easy access to all the amenities the city has to offer. The courthouse complex includes a variety of unique meeting spaces located alongside historical exhibitions. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful, rolling grounds with historical markers and monuments that convey the history of the area.
The Historic Courthouse is not available for wedding ceremonies or receptions.

Historic Courtroom
This stately space offers an elegant alternative to typical hotel facilities. Perfect for a large meeting, seminar or business entertainment event.
Rental Includes
- 175 chairs for indoor use only.
- Sixteen (16) 5-feet round tables.
- Six (6) 8-feet rectangular tables.
- Six (6) 6-feet rectangular tables.
- Two (2) 9-feet rectangular Attorney tables.
- One (1) 6-feet two-tier bar table.
- Eight (8) 30-inches round cabaret tables (adjustable height).
- Lectern.
- Sound system with 2 microphones.
- Large wall-mounted projection screen (projector not provided).
- Food service kitchen for licensed offsite catering.
Register of Deeds Meeting Room
The room’s tall windows and vaulted ceilings make the space a light and comfortable setting for small group sessions and more intimate meetings of up to 15.

- 15 chairs for indoor use only.
- Two (2) 8-feet rectangular tables.
- Two (2) 6-feet rectangular tables.
- Eight (8) 30-inches round cabaret tables (adjustable height).
- 40-inches monitor with DVD player available upon request.
- Coat rack.
North Lobby
A beautiful cherry conference table tucked under the elegant butternut staircase is the centerpiece of this space. The room is light and airy, open to the courtroom area above, while still private for meetings and small groups of 10.

- 10 padded conference chairs.
- 12-feet rectangular conference table.
- 40-icnhes monitor with DVD player available upon request.
- Coat rack.

Public Hours
Lobby, bathrooms, exhibits, and historic jail are open to park visitors 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Rental Hours
9:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. (Event must end by 10:00 p.m., clean-up included)
Public hours are Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Saturday - Sunday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. After hours availability is 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Rates are per hour. Minimum rental of three (3) hours after 4 p.m.
Additional fees and event insurance may be required.
Courtroom

- Damage Deposit - $250 (plus tax)
- Historic Jail Access - $50 (plus tax)

The Historic Courthouse is a magnificent backdrop for your special event photography and videography. Photographers must secure a special use permit from Washington County in order to utilize the Historic Courthouse and grounds for commercial photography. Photography privileges are included in meeting and event rentals for the date of the event only.
