Patrol Division
With 423.61 square miles to cover; including seven county parks, two state parks and a state trail system, members of the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division take pride in serving the citizens of 18 cities/townships throughout Washington County.
The Patrol Division is home to 55 full-time deputies, six K-9s, 10 sergeants, and one commander.
Washington County Sheriff’s Office offers several community engagement based services as well, including DARE instruction, community engagement events, and crime prevention presentations.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office provides law enforcement services to all of the cities and townships in the county that do not have their own police department, (statutory areas). We also provide law enforcement coverage under contract to the following cities:
- Afton
- Birchwood Village
- Grant
- Hugo
- Lakeland
- Lakeland Shores
- Lake Elmo
- Lake St. Croix Beach
- Landfall
- Mahtomedi
- Newport
- Scandia
- St. Mary's Point
- Willernie
The Washington County Sheriff's Office provides law enforcement services to all of the cities and townships in the county that do not have their own police department, including:
- Baytown Township
- Denmark Township
- May Township
- Marine on St. Croix
- Pine Springs
- Stillwater Township
- West Lakeland Township
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office provides resources to community members, organizations, and businesses to prevent and reduce crime and victimization through a wide-variety of community policing, crime prevention, and public education programs. It is the goal of the Washington County Sheriff's Office to partner with citizens in promoting safe communities and engaged citizens.
