Renewal of Registration Stickers
Using our Drop Box or Mail Service to renew your registration is the fastest way to get your transaction completed and is contact free! Appointments are also available. Walk-in service is available in limited capacity based on staffing levels and appointment cancellations.

Check or Money OrderWheelage Tax
Washington County does collect Wheelage Tax on vehicles kept in Washington County. If you live in Washington County and keep your vehicle(s) at home when not in use or have a business in Washington County and keep your vehicle(s) at your business during non-working hours, you are required to pay Wheelage Tax at the time of initial registration and renewal of registration of your vehicle(s).
Drop Box/Mail Instructions for Renewal of Registration Stickers:
If you have your renewal notice, you will need:
- to put your insurance information on the renewal notice near the bottom, include company name, policy number and full policy expiration date (MM/DD/YYYY)
- to ensure the county kept in listed on your renewal notice is correct. If it is not, make the correction on the notice.
- to make a check or money order payable to Washington County for the amount on your renewal slip
- to put the entire renewal notice and payment in an envelope
- to write "Tabs" on your envelope
- to place it a drop box or mail to one of our locations
If you do not have your renewal notice, you will need:
- to full our the Tab Renewal Form
- to call our license centers at 651-275-7000 for your vehicle tab price
- to put the completed Tab Renewal Form and payment in an envelope
- to write "Tabs" on your envelope
- to place in a drop box or mail to one of our locations
Payment Options:
Check or Money Order
- Make it out to Washington County
- Include your driver's license number and phone number
Wheelage Tax
