Information regarding services during COVID-19

Effective Monday, March 30th thru April 10th, the Washington County Sheriff’s will be closing the front window at the Law Enforcement Center.

This modification will be made in an effort to limit the exposure of our citizens and staff to the COVID-19 virus. This will mean a change in gun permits and civil process.

Mortgage Foreclosure Redemption

Procedures for Original Mortgagors & Lien Holders

The Washington County Sheriff's Office requires a redemption preparation fee in the amount of $250 (non-refundable). No redemption preparation work will begin until the redemption fee is paid. Keep in mind it may take a week or more to get figures back from the attorney for the lender.

On the day of redemption, you must bring:

Mortgage Payoff - The payoff amount must be made by a bank cashier’s check made out to the mortgage company

Be at the Sheriff's Office no later than 4:00 p.m. on the day of redemption

*As of January 1, 2005, per Minnesota Statute 580.24 and 580.25, All Notice of Intent To Redeem papers recorded with Washington County Recorder’s Office must be filed with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office prior to redemption date. There is a $100 filing fee per Notice of Intent.
