Community Thread finds volunteers to assist someone who needs a helping hand to keep them engaged in their community. They offer social activities for older adults to ensure their lives are enriched. They provide services for community members so they are connected to the resources they need.

Family Homelessness Prevention and Assistance Program (FHPAP)

Please contact one of the below agencies for assistance in housing and food.
  • Solid Ground the Home Again program, which provides rent assistance and case management for families to help them secure permanent housing.
  • Canvas Health provides support services for youth who are homeless/at-risk of homelessness.
  • Salvation Army to provide financial assistance such as utility payment assistance, clothing or food assistance, transportation assistance, etc.

United Veterans Council

is a non-profit organization that helps meet the temporary emergency financial needs of Washington County Servicemembers, Veterans, Widowers and dependents. Contact the Washington County Veteran Service Office for more information regarding this program.

Veterans Campground on Big Marine Lake is a family campground that provides facilities and opportunities for recreation, rest, and recovery for all who have served honorably in the Armed Forces of the United States, whether still serving or have served in the past, their families, and sponsored guests.
