The Washington County Sheriff's Office Citizen's Academy is a continuing effort to help develop citizen awareness and understanding of the role of law enforcement in our communities. The Citizen Academy will consist of participants interacting with members of the Sheriff’s Office in several role-play scenarios, along with demonstrations of K-9, firearms and the Special Weapons and Tactics team. The academy students will be involved and advised on many of the responsibilities of law enforcement, the Washington County Sheriff's Office history, the mission and programs from within the Jail, and other roles the Sheriff’s Office has within criminal justice field.
