Big Marine Park Reserve
- Bird Hike - 9:00 to 10:00 AM - Meet at Playground
Hardwood Creek Regional Trail
- Self-Guided hiking, biking, in-line skating, and horseback riding along converted railroad line connecting communities of Hugo, Forest Lake, and Wyoming (9.5 miles) of paved trail; adjacent turf trail for horseback riding
- People & Places: Architecture in Washington County Exhibit Grand Opening
Washington County Parks and the Historic Courthouse invite you to the opening of our new exhibit "People & Places: Architecture in Washington County" at the Washington County Historic Courthouse on Saturday, June 2, 2018. The new exhibition will highlight various architectural styles found in the county from pre-1850 to 1960. Sections will focus on Lost History (sites and buildings that are no longer): Early Peoples; Mills & Merchants; Learning & Leisure; Law & Order; Victorian & Turn of the Century; Modern.
- People & Places: A Stroll Through History- 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM
Join us for a FREE guided history stroll from the Washington County Historic Courthouse in celebration of the opening of the exhibit “People & Places: Architecture in Washington County”. Walk along the charming neighborhoods in Stillwater, learn about the unique homes and hear stories of the people who lived in them. Each stroll will be approx. 45 minutes and include some stair climbing along a mile-long route offering beautiful views and history highlights.
Trail routes will include uneven staircases, pavement and sidewalks, traversing light terrain. Please dress for the weather and wear athletic shoes. Ages 10 or older; all minors must be accompanied by an adult. Participants can park at the Historic Courthouse and check in at the Parks Office. No reservations are required.
Lake Elmo Park Reserve
- Campfire Program ~ 7:15 p.m. BUGS! Presented by Bruce the Bug Guy at the outdoor amphitheater in the modern campground. 45 minute program
Pine Point Regional Park
- Walk with a Naturalist - 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM
Explore the improved trails at Pine Point Regional Park with a Master Naturalist. Look for signs of a changing environment and learn to identify plants and animals.
St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park
Campfire Program ~ 7:15 p.m. Raptors, presented by Carpenter Nature Center at the outdoor amphitheater in the modern campground. 45 minute program
Passport to Parks
Welcome to Passport to Parks! Visit at least five parks and answer the questions as you go. Bring your completed passport to any park office to receive your prize. Park offices include Big Marine Park Reserve, Historic Courthouse, Lake Elmo Park Reserve and St. Croix Bluffs.
Scavenger Hunt will begin on Explore Your Parks Day, June 2, 2018 and will be collected through November 1, 2018. Follow all park rules including vehicle permit requirements and park hours (6:00 AM - 10:00 PM)
All programs are free!
All children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Events will be held rain of shine, however in the case of severe weather, programs will be cancelled.
