2010 Highway Program
The Washington County Public Works Department announces its 2010 Highway Program, which includes road construction, resurfacing and bridge construction projects.
The proposed program is subject to change due to funding availability and coordination with other agencies.

Construction Projects
In a continuing effort to provide the best service for Washington County residents, the following roadways will be reconstructed during the 2010 construction season. The projects are scheduled to address major problems on the county highway system, including safety, traffic capacity or congestion and deteriorating pavement conditions. Every effort is made to promote traffic flow. Please drive safely in construction zones.
40th Street South/Afton Boulevard South (County Road 18) in Afton
County Road 18 will be reconstructed as a two-lane undivided roadway, including turn lanes and four foot paved shoulders from Manning Avenue South (State Highway 95) to Trading Post Trail South.
11th Avenue Southwest (County Road 83) in Forest Lake
A bridge will be constructed over Interstate 35.
Broadway Avenue North (County Road 2) in Forest Lake
A bridge will be constructed over Broadway Avenue at the Hardwood Creek Trail.
Manning Avenue North (County Road 15) in Grant
A bridge will be constructed over Manning Avenue North at the Gateway Trail.
Jamaca Avenue North (County Road 6) in Lake Elmo
Roundabout construction at Jamaca Avenue North and 34th Street North (State Highway 5).
Inwood Avenue North (County Road 13) in Lake Elmo
Center Turn Lane Project at 15th Street North.
Road Resurfacing Projects
Pavement replacement and overlays can extend the life of roadways showing signs of surface deterioration. These projects will have short term lane closures. Advance warning signs and flaggers will direct traffic through the construction area.
County Road 8
Pavement replacement from Goodview Avenue North to 122nd Street North (County Road 7) in Hugo.
65th Street South (County Road 74)
Pavement replacement from Century Avenue to Hinton Avenue South (County Road 13) in Cottage Grove.
Crack Sealing Projects
Pavement cracks will be filled on county roads in various locations. This work will be done during the summer months. These projects will have short-term lane closures. Advance warning signs and flaggers will direct traffic work areas.
