Document Information

Property Records (Recorder's Office) is charged with accepting and recording/filing of 400+ different types of documents (according to Minnesota State Statute), providing access to those documents and permanent preservation of all the records in the office.

Most documents presented for recording fall into the following categories: All documents pertaining to real property, Federal/State tax liens, Federal judgments, Court judgments, UCC's (Uniform Commercial Code) that pertains to personal property, and Military Discharges.

All records are permanently preserved by imaging or microfilmed and are available for public viewing or producing copies of any document by mail or in person at a minimal charge.

Documents are accessible by document number, legal description and name. All recorded documents are available in the office through the computerized real property system or on our website (with a contract and a monthly fee).
