The Facilities Division is made up of four separate units that work together to provide various services to a variety of departments within 12 County buildings with an approximate total of 1,000,000 square feet of floor space. These buildings include:
- Government Center
- Law Enforcement Center
- Historic Courthouse
- 2 Highway maintenance buildings
- 4 main Libraries
- 2 License Centers
- South Service Center
The Facilities Division Office Staff provide conference room scheduling, card reader access issuance, lock and key services, contract management, preventative maintenance/work order system management, and project fund tracking among the day-to-day activities.
The Facilities Project Coordinator manages remodeling projects for departments officed in 12 County buildings plus leased office space in four cities throughout the County. The projects vary from office remodeling to building additions, with major building construction managed by the Facilities Manager or through a contracted project manager to insure quality of work and construction cost efficiencies. This position also carries the added responsibility for addressing air quality and safety concerns submitted by County staff. These concerns are investigated, staff interviews are conducted, and remedial action taken to resolve any issue.
The Facilities Technician Unit provides repair and maintenance service for all heating and cooling systems throughout 10 of the 12 County buildings. This unit also provides repair and replacement services for electrical needs, fixtures, furnishings, security, and fire alarm systems in the buildings.
The Custodial Unit provides care and cleaning, minor repairs, delivery, and snow removal services at each building. This unit is responsible for trash removal and cleaning on a daily basis of all office, restroom, corridor, atrium, and entrance spaces at each of the buildings.
