Safety
Safety issues affect all families, especially families with young children.
Unintentional injuries or "accidents" are the leading cause of death for children 14 and younger, according to the Minnesota Safety Council. Each year, more than 5,600 children in the United States die and nearly 120,000 are permanently disabled from preventable injuries. Some of the primary risks for children include: traffic related accidents, falls, fires and burns, choking, suffocation, poisoning, drowning, and firearm incidents.
