Family Health
Washington County Public Health and Environment promotes healthy families in the community through Public Health Nursing Home Visits. These visits are offered to pregnant and parenting families seeking additional resources and support.
Nurses work with families on a variety of areas, including parenting, nutrition, child growth and development, and safety. We also provide prenatal and breastfeeding education for pregnant families. Nurses can help families deal with stressful circumstances and challenges.
Public Health Nurses recognize each family's unique circumstances and their ability to succeed. Individuals are taught about their own innate health. We also address how thinking can influence parenting.
For additional information on any of these topics, see the links on the left. You may also call 651-430-6655 to inquire about home visiting services.
