After Marriage
Upon receipt of a Certificate of Marriage, you may change the name on your driver's license, Social Security card, and voter registration.
Driver's License
When changing your name and/or address on your Minnesota driver's license, bring a certified copy of your Marriage License or appropriate document to verify the change. Minnesota Driver's license changes can be done at the following Washington County locations:

Social Security Card
If you have changed your name in any way, you must notify the Social Security Office. Social Security applications may be obtained online at www.ssa.gov/ or by calling the Social Security Administration Office at 1-800-772-1213.
Voter Registration
If you previously were registered to vote in Minnesota, and now have changed your name and/or address, it will be necessary for you to re-register. To re-register to vote:
1) Go to first floor of the Washington County Government Center (between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday) or call 651-430-6175 to have a voter registration application mailed to you.

3) Check the voter registration box in the bottom right-hand corner of your driver's license application form.
The license centers, most city, township, and school district offices, and the Washington County Libraries will have voter registration applications available.
