Late Property Tax Payments Tax payments made after the due date are assessed a late payment penalty per Minnesota State Law. The penalty amounts are not displayed either on the Washington County Property Information WebPage or the tax payment webpages.
If you would like your tax payment to include your late payment penalty, call Taxpayer Services at 651-430-6175 to obtain the total amount due, including the penalty. You may then follow the online tax payment steps and override the payment amount to the amount provided to you by the Taxpayer Services Customer Service Representative. If a payment is made after the due date and the penalty amount is not included, the payment will be receipted as a partial payment. The payment amount is first applied to the penalty amount owed which will leave a balance due on your property taxes.
