Programs and Events
Washington County Parks offers nature programs, festivals, and lessons. The programs are typically free (some lessons do require a fee). However, Washington County Parks vehicle permits are required for all vehicles entering the parks.
Washington County Bluegrass Festival

Washington County Parks presents the ninth annual Bluegrass Festival from 2:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Come out to Lake Elmo Park Reserve and listen to some local and regional bluegrass bands as they pluck their string instruments. The line-up for the day includes Echo Street, Marty Marrone & Tangled Roots, Monroe Crossing, and Two Many Banjos. It is a family event with vendors, play areas, hiking trails, camping, and, of course, music. The festival is free with a valid vehicle permit. These permits are sold for $5 for one day and $25 for one year. Pack up your car and come out to the event. More Info
Minnesota Starwatch with Mike Lynch

Mike Lynch, a meteorologist with WCCO Radio who also writes a weekly stargazing column in the “St. Paul Pioneer Press,” will be presenting an outdoor program called "Minnesota Starwatch." Participants can get to know constellations such as “The Big Bear,” “Cassiopeia,” “Pegasus,” and some of the stories behind them. They will also use large reflecting telescopes, including a 20-inch telescope that is among the biggest in Minnesota. Stargazers may wish to bring along a lawn chair or blanket. More info...
Intro to Archery Classes
Lake Elmo Elmo Park Reserve

Throughout the summer, archery classes will be held at Lake Elmo Park Reserve’s archery range. The classes include women's only classes, perfect for a mother daughter combination, two-day beginner course, and weekend intro classes. At these introduction courses, participants will learn how to become an archer using proper form, safety, and terminology. All equipment is provided. The majority of these courses do require prior registration. Contact the Lake Elmo Park Reserve for more information and registration. More info...

Park Campgrounds
Every Saturday evening, between May 29 and Sept. 4, a naturalist from a local nature center will conduct a program in each Washington County Park campground. The programs will be at 7:15 p.m. in the campground amphitheater, unless otherwise noted.
The programs are free and open to both campers and non-campers. Vehicle fees do apply - $5 per vehicle or display a current Washington County Parks Annual Permit
