The boat launch is open from 6 a.m. to 1/2 hour after sunset, and it accesses Square Lake. The launch is also open in the winter for ice fishing access.
Please be aware that there is water surface zoning in effect for Square Lake. There is a restricted speed zone, which lies between the 40 foot depth contour of the lake and the shoreline, and an open speed zone, which covers the center of the lake (water over 40 feet deep). This 40 foot depth contour, which serves as the dividing line between the restricted and open speed zones, is marked with buoys. The restrictions for each area follow:
Restricted Speed Zone (100 acres):
5 mph speed limit on all motorized watercraft at all times
Open Speed Zone (95 acres):
Open speed hours are from noon to 6pm on weekdays, and noon to 4pm on weekends and holidays - at all other times, a 5 mph speed limit is in effect
During the above open speed hours, there is no speed limit on motorized watercraft, however, all motorized watercraft shall travel in a counterclockwise direction
