Located on US Highway 10 (Pt. Douglas Drive So.), west of Prescott, Wisconsin.

Directions:

  • From US Highway 61/10, follow US Highway 10 to the south. Turn left into the park.
  • From Prescott, Wisconsin, cross the US Highway 10 bridge into Minnesota (west). Turn right into the park.

Park Hours are 7:00 a.m. until one-half hour after sunset.

Vehicle Permits are not required in this park.

Point Douglas Park is located on the scenic St. Croix River, just above the confluence with the Mississippi River. The view of the St. Croix River is magnificent.

Point Douglas Park also functions as a wayside rest for motorists traveling between Minnesota and Wisconsin. Picnic tables and grills are provided for snacks or meals as people enjoy the beauty of the area.

Restaurants are located within a quarter mile in Prescott, Wisconsin.

This park offers the following facilities:

Fishing Pier


Point Douglas has a concrete fishing pier at the far east end of the park. It is located between the U.S. Highway 10 bridge (over the St. Croix River) and the park's picnic area. Parking, drinking water (summer), and restrooms are available nearby.

Swimming Beach


The swimming area includes 510 feet of sandy beach.  Clean restrooms and changing rooms are available in a nearby beach building.  A grassy area provides picnicking with tables and grills.  There are no lifeguards on duty.

  • Organized groups require a special permit for use of the swimming facilities (links below).
  • Children six years of age or under must be accompanied by an adult while in the water.
  • Swimmers are responsible for their own health and safety.
  • Parents or guardians have a responsibility for children under their care.
  • Children must be directly supervised by an adult.
  • Visitors may not use the beach during non-operating hours.
  • Alcoholic beverages, including 3.2 beer, are prohibited.
  • Pets are not allowed in the beach area.
  • The use of tobacco products is not allowed within 100 feet of the beach.
  • Glass containers are not permitted.
  • Coast Guard approved Types I, II, III, or V personal flotation devices are allowed in designated area only.
  • Parking allowed in designated lots only.
  • Diapers must be covered with rubber/plastic pants

Management reserves the right to ask a park patron to leave the beach area when rules are violated.
