"Winter Jackets" - Adult Winter Reading Program

The Winter Jackets program - meant to encourage wintertime reading by adults - runs Jan. 11, 2010, through Feb. 28, 2010, at all Washington County Branch Libraries.

Here’s how YOU can participate:

1. Starting Jan. 11, pick up a "starter kit" at your library's Info Desk -- a bookmark and a review form.

2. Read a book.

3. Fill out a review form and return it to the Library; your review form becomes an entry in a drawing for prizes. (Drawings conducted on March 2, 2010.)

Repeat steps 2 & 3 as many times as you wish.

--Readers’ reviews will be placed in notebooks at each library; read reviews to find out what fellow Winter Jackets participants are enjoying. --

Attend these "Winter Jackets" special events:

  • Minnesota Crime Wave at R. H. Stafford Library
    A "Winter Jackets" event!

    City Central Park Amphitheater
    Saturday, Feb. 27
    1 p.m.

Three Minnesota mystery writers -- Carl Brookins, Ellen Hart, and William Kent Krueger -- comprise the Minnesota Crime Wave. These award-winning authors travel the state promoting their genre and the craft of writing.  To liven things up, they pose as crooks while entertaining and informing their audience.

All Twin Cities metro public libraries are participating in the Winter Jackets program. The program is sponsored by metro public libraries and MELSA, an alliance of metro public libraries.
