Here's how the Library Express service works:
Get a Library Card!
As with any library service, you need a library card. Go to any Washington County Library and sign up. Library Express users also need an e-mail account.
To Request Items
You can either use the Hugo Library Express kiosk or go online from your own computer, www.co.washington.mn.us/library. You should designate the Hugo Library Express as your pickup point.
The computer kiosk is located inside the Hugo City Hall and is available during regular business hours: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Check the city's website to learn about holiday closings: http://www.ci.hugo.mn.us
How do I know when my materials will be available?
The library will send you an e-mail when your materials are available. (E-mail is the only method of notification available to users of the Library Express service.) You have approximately 60 hours from the time your materials are delivered to the Library Express. The Library Express has deliveries on Tuesdays and Fridays.
How do I pick up my materials?
The Library Express is located at Hugo City Hall, 14669 Fitzgerald Ave. N., Hugo. You can pick up or return your items any time day or night since the lockers and book return are outside the City Hall.
To pick up library materials, go to the lockers and follow the instructions on the keypad. You will be asked to enter the last four digits of the library card used to place the request. After entering the last four digits, press "enter." The assigned locker(s) opens automatically. Your items are already checked out, so pull them out, shut the locker door and move on to your next errand.
Many Happy Returns
Most materials may be borrowed for three weeks. Exceptions are videos and DVDs, which are loaned for one week. Check out the library website for borrowing specifics. You may return materials to the Library Express or to the 24-hour book drop at any Washington County Library. You may even return items to any other public library in the seven-county metro area.
