The Law Library is staffed by professional librarians who can assist you with print and electronic legal resources. Please be aware that library staff cannot provide legal advice or interpretation of legal materials.

Circulation

The following groups are eligible for Law Library loan privileges: licensed bar members (Minnesota and Wisconsin); Washington County staff; law students; residents of Washington County

The following types of items are for library use only: Reference Collection; County, Township and Municipal Ordinances and Codes; Dictionaries; Form Books; Indices

Print Collection

The Law Library print collection includes:

• Primary sources of Minnesota state law (Washington County Ordinances, Minnesota Statutes, Minnesota Rules, Minnesota Rules of Court, Minnesota Attorney General Opinions, session laws, Northwestern Reporter).

• Primary sources of federal law (United States Code Annotated, Code of Federal Regulations, Federal Register, Supreme Court Reporter, Federal Reporter)

• Wisconsin Statutes Annotated, Wisconsin Rules of Court, various Wisconsin practice materials

• Treatises, CLEs, form books, practice manuals, jury instructions, Dunnell's Minnesota Digest, CJS, ALRs, Words & Phrases, ULA, Minnesota Digest, Northwestern Digest, Supreme Court Digest, and selected periodicals

• Self Help Materials

• Four computers with access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Westlaw and Internet
• Printer (15 cents a page)
• Photocopier (10 cents a page)
