Flood & Disaster Information for Food Establishments
Contact Washington County Public Health if flood waters or sewage have affected your food establishment.
Flood waters and sewage can contain rotting food, feces, chemicals and disease-causing organisms which will contaminate the operation and easily cause food borne illnesses. If flooding or sewage back-up can not immediately be contained and cleaned up, the facility should be closed until it can. Flooding can also lead to power outages and water service disruption, it is important to have a plan in place if any of these issues were to occur.
To report a food establishment affected by a flood or other emergency condition or for assistance regarding food safety call the department's main phone number at 651-430-6655. Indicate which community the establishment is located in and you will be transferred to the inspector assigned to that community.
