The children of veterans who die while serving on active duty or as a result of a service-connected condition may be eligibly for free tuition at a MN college or university. The applicant (War Orphan) must be a MN resident for at least two years prior to application. The deceased veteran (parent/guardian) must have been a MN resident for at least six months immediately prior to the time of entry on active duty. “Veterans child” includes birth or adoption, but does not include step or foster children.
