Terms
Maximum terms for advisory board committee members are set at three, three-year terms, or four, two-year terms unless provided otherwise by state statute or County Board action.
An appointment to finish out an unexpired term of a committee member does not count toward the term limits. After an interval of one year, when a former committee member is off the committee, the former committee member is again eligible to serve.
The following committees, commissions, and boards are affected by membership term limits:
- Board of Adjustment and Appeals - three, three-year terms
- Audit Advisory Committee - four, two-year terms
- Community Corrections Advisory Board - four, two-year terms
- Community Development Block Grant Citizens Advisory Committee - two, three-year terms
- Community Services Advisory Committee - two, three-year terms
- Historic Courthouse Advisory Council - four, two-year terms
- Housing and Redevelopment Authority - two, three-year terms
- Library Board - two, three-year terms
- Mental Health Advisory Council - two, three-year terms
- Minnesota Extension Committee - three, three-year terms
- Parks and Open Space Commission - three, three-year terms
- Planning Advisory Commission - three, three-year terms
- Public Health Emergency Preparedness Advisory Committee - three, two-year terms
- Veterans Rest Camp Association Board - two, three-year terms
- Workforce Investment Board
