Law Library Board


Purpose:

Established December 14, 1956, by order of Rollin G. Johnson, Judge of District Court. The operation of the Law Library is governed by Minn. Stat. 134A and by Bylaws adopted by the Board of Trustees.

Composition:

The Law Library Board consists of the following:
  • Two judges of the District Court appointed by the Chief Judge of the Tenth Judicial District.
  • One County Commissioner selected by the County Board at its annual election of officers.
  • One Attorney admitted to the practice of law residing in the County and selected by the County Attorney.
  • One additional attorney admitted to the practice of law, residing in the County, and selected by the County Attorney.

Terms:

All members of the Board hold office for a period of time determined by Board resolution and their appointing authority.

Meeting Requirements:

An annual meeting in the spring; regular meetings as called by the President; special meetings as called by the President or Secretary at the request of any member of the Board.

Responsibilities:

The Law Library Board of Trustees may perform all acts necessary and proper to further the interests of the Washington County Law Library.
