Housing and Redevelopment Authority Board

Purpose

The Washington County Housing and Redevelopment Board (HRA) is authorized by the Minnesota Housing and Redevelopment Act, Chapter 487, Minnesota Session Laws of 1947, to undertake certain types of housing and redevelopment activities in Washington County. Washington County Board Resolution No. 80 87 established the HRA after certain need findings.

Composition

Washington County HRA board members are appointed by the Washington County Board.  The board consists of:

  • Five citizen members (one from each Commissioner District)
  • One County Commissioner
  • One consumer of HRA services as required in the Code of Federal Regulations

Terms

Members are appointed for three-year terms. The County Board limits appointments to no more than two consecutive three-year terms.  Partial terms to fill mid-term vacancies are not counted in this limit.

Meetings

The HRA Board meets on the third Tuesday of each month.

Remuneration

Minnesota Statute (Section 469.001, et. seq.) provide that HRA board members may receive up to $55 per meeting. The Washington County HRA provides for this payment.

Operating Procedures

This advisory board operates in accordance with operating procedures established by the county.
