Commissioner Myra Peterson was first elected to serve the citizens of District 4 in a special election in September 1993.  She was reelected in 1994, 1998, 2002 and 2006.  She serves as the chair of the Washington County Regional Railroad Authority.   She formerly served as the mayor of Oakdale and has a business background in interior design.  Commissioner Peterson is active in many community organizations and has a special interest  in issues concerning youth, women, transportation, and historic preservation.   Commissioner Peterson and her husband, Roger, are residents of  Cottage Grove, Minnesota.
