Exploring outdoor fun!

Explore Your Parks Day encourages people to visit any Washington County Park on the first Saturday in June for free (no vehicle permit required-all day). Historically, Lake Elmo Park Reserve has hosted the main event complete with outdoor recreation demos, 5K/1K fun run and entertainment for the entire family.

Demonstration and activity opportunities: Kayaking (Joe's Sporting Goods), Outdoor ZUMBA, Yoga, Nordic Walking, Make Your Own S'mores, Spin Art (Franconia Sculpture Park), Campground Crime Scene Scavenger Hunt (Leave No Trace), Pinecone Birdfeeders (WCD), Lawn Twister, Obstacle Course (YMCA) and more!

A look at last year's event: 5K/1K fun run, outdoor yoga, Zumba on the Beach, kayaking (
Joe's Sporting Goods), stand-up paddleboarding at Square Lake with (Silver Creek Paddle & Co.), rock climbing (Minnesota National Guard), YMCA obstacle course, Owls by Warner Nature Center, a native planting activity with Washington Conservation District, nature art with ArtReach St Croix, Minnesota fish tank and FIN fishing program promotion by MN DNR FIN, Leadie Eddie Lead Screening, Washington County Sheriff's K-9 Unit demo with Blaze, make your own s'mores and much more! Music and entertainment by Tricia and the Toonies and Will Hale and the Tadpole Parade. Thank you to all the organizations and volunteers that helped make this event a success.
